Longing

Eniafe believes her three-year relationship with Seyi is heading to marriage. In Longing, Seyi tells her to dress up because they are going somewhere important, and she expects a proposal. He takes her to his mother's house instead. The mother has spent seven days fasting and praying, and she reads Bible verses that declare Eniafe is not meant to marry Seyi. Seyi goes along with the revelation and ends the relationship, and the breakup leaves Eniafe devastated. Eniafe's mother pressures her to beg Seyi to come back, but Eniafe refuses. She looks for comfort with Kayode instead. Kayode will not put a label on their time together, saying they are just going with the flow. Six months later, Eniafe tries to celebrate their anniversary, and Kayode says they were never officially dating. Duke, an old flame who left her to study abroad, re-enters her life, and he is now married with children. Eniafe starts an affair with him. Kayode's side business falls apart when a real estate scam leaves him in debt, and loan sharks come after him. Eniafe lies to her father to get money, and she borrows from Seyi to bail Kayode out. Kayode belittles her film career, and she reads dismissive messages he wrote about her. She confronts Duke about his wife and children and ends the affair. Eniafe sees that she has been giving herself to men who refuse to commit. Eniafe gives Seyi back the money she borrowed. Seyi tries to win her back, and she refuses because he never stood up for her. She confesses to her father that she lied to get the money for Kayode. Her father forgives her but insists she repay the loan by funding her own film course. He arranges a production assistant job for her on a film set, and she uses it to rebuild her career. At a rooftop lounge, Eniafe walks away from a man and chooses her own future over unfulfilling relationships.
