Elenda

Elenda endures multiple miscarriages and a near-death experience. Her husband Chike resists the financial and emotional toll of further fertility treatments. Elenda's younger sister Angel discovers she is unexpectedly pregnant after a casual relationship with Ola. Angel attempts to terminate the pregnancy but Ola hesitates and their controlling mother looms over the decision. Elenda learns of the pregnancy and proposes that Angel carry the baby to term and that Elenda and Chike raise the child as their own. Angel agrees under intense pressure from Elenda. Elenda immediately begins to micromanage Angel's pregnancy by controlling her diet and enforcing yoga and monitoring her movements and converting a room into a nursery. Elenda's obsession intensifies into erratic behavior as she locks cabinets and wakes at night to pray over Angel's belly and performs aggressive spiritual warfare. Chike grows alarmed and urges professional help but Elenda refuses and insists she is fighting for her baby. Family members including Elenda's brother Dozie and their mother intervene but Elenda's mental state deteriorates further. The crisis peaks when Elenda destroys the nursery and accuses Chike of never wanting the child. Angel plans to flee with Ola after he secures a major writing job in another city. Elenda discovers Angel's social media post revealing her earlier consideration of abortion and feels betrayed. Elenda confiscates Angel's phone and confronts Chike with a raw confession of her years of infertility trauma. Shortly after Elenda collapses in severe abdominal pain and is rushed to the hospital. At the hospital Elenda's mother and sister clash over the baby's fate. Elenda demands to know where her child is. A doctor reveals that Elenda herself is four months pregnant and her body has finally sustained a pregnancy past the first trimester for the first time. The news transforms the crisis and Elenda releases Angel from their agreement.
