Maryann Ugwu

EARLY LIFE

Maryann Ugwu was born in the mid-90s to the family of Mr and Mrs Ugwu. She hails from Nsukka, Enugu State, Nigeria. She is an Igbo lady and was raised in the traditions and culture of her tribe. She speaks English and Igbo fluently. Her parents raised her and her siblings in Nsukka, known for being home to the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. She was raised in the Christian faith and started acting in plays with her siblings and other neighborhood children from an early age, discovering her talent for acting. She was consistently cast in school plays and church dramas.

CAREER

Maryann Ugwu's professional acting career began in 2016. She gained prominence after being cast in the movie 'Oche’s Secret'. Her filmography includes 'Tattoo', 'Stolen Crown', 'Sheer Luck', 'Inyanga The Tailor', 'Without Mercy', 'River of Passion', 'Nto Nto', 'Little Vanessa', 'The Coppers', 'My Love My Life', 'The Widow Of Nkanu', 'Love In The Cloud', 'Abandoned Gods', 'Where Men Rules', 'The Only Way', 'Resentment', 'Not My Sister', 'The Lioness', 'Love Is Wicked'. She has collaborated with notable actors such as Don Brymo, Prince Nwafor, Sambasa Nzeribe, Eve Esin, Ebelle Okaro, Okey Uzo Eshi, and Stella Udeze. Many of her films have been produced by ROK TV, and she has also worked on projects led by filmmaker Okey Ezugwu.
