EARLY LIFE
Biyi Toluwalase was born in a middle-class family in Ketu-Ijanikin, Lagos. He grew up as a shy and inquisitive child, gravitating towards writing. He expressed his intentions of going into filmmaking early in life. He attended Federal Government College, Lagos, Ijanikin, and later studied Theatre Arts at Obafemi Awolowo University, graduating in 2014.
CAREER
After university, Biyi Toluwalase pursued a career in film editing, starting in late 2018 with his first Nollywood gig. He transitioned from using Adobe Premiere Pro to DaVinci Resolve. His work as an editor and post-production supervisor includes notable Nollywood films such as 'Old Habits' (2022), 'Gangs of Lagos' (2023), 'Brotherhood' (2022), 'Passport' (2022), 'The Wildflower' (2022), 'Sista' (2022), 'Strangers' (2022), 'The Kujus Again' (2023), 'Hotel Labamba' (2023), and 'Makemation' (2025). He also has credits in the editorial and camera and electrical departments, and a single acting credit. He has two forthcoming projects, a drama series by Ramsey Nouah and a high school drama.
