Storyline

This heartfelt Nollywood romance explores how love battles prejudice, tradition, and parental control. When Ernest introduces his girlfriend Jenny to his mother, the meeting turns painful: upon learning Jenny has epilepsy, his mother harshly rejects her, fearing stigma and family shame. Ernest, unable to defy his mother, watches helplessly as their relationship crumbles. Jenny, feeling betrayed and unseen, walks away with a broken heart. Time passes, and Ernest meets Vera, a hardworking single mother raising her daughter Lola with grace despite financial struggles. Their connection grows through quiet kindness and shared moments, offering Ernest a chance at genuine love. But his mother's interference returns. She criticizes Vera for being a single parent and demands she undergo a strict "two-week test" living under her roof to prove her character. Vera and Lola reluctantly agree, enduring judgment and scrutiny. Through tense confrontations, quiet resilience, and moments of tenderness, the film asks whether love can thrive when weighed down by tradition and fear. Ernest must finally choose: continue hiding behind his mother's expectations, or stand up for the woman who sees him for who he truly is. Blending romance with sharp social commentary, the story reminds viewers that true worth is never defined by condition, status, or past mistakes—but by the courage to love openly and the strength to protect what matters most.
