Storyline
Star Effiong works as a realtor at Haven Realty in Star's Diary, carrying her mainland family on her salary. Her father's gambling habit disrupts the household, and his debts never stay settled. When the office assigns Star as liaison to Charles Odenipo, a successful real estate mogul, property inspections turn into jokes about old Nollywood movies, and they share a ride home. Charles wins over the family with gifts and a candlelit dinner, and their connection deepens despite Star's reservations. Her father's debt grows until he loses the rent money to betting and angers the landlord, so Charles covers the loss. Then her father vanishes, and Star searches with the police for a month. After a month of grief, Charles's maid Kewe tells Star the truth: Charles has been hiding and rehabilitating her father. Star feels betrayed by the deception, rejects Charles, and Charles fires Kewe for exposing the secret. Still estranged, Star gets a call that her pregnant sister Ife is suffering a stress-induced emergency. Charles races Ife to the hospital, and the act begins to mend the broken trust. He calls a reconciliatory dinner and reveals that he found Star's long-lost mother Bukola, who has been working as his maid to atone for abandoning the family. Star's emotional outburst triggers Ife's labor, and the family unites at the hospital as Ife gives birth to a son, whom she names Charles. Star's father and mother both ask for forgiveness, and Star lets the family back in. The family heals slowly. On a beach picnic, Charles formally proposes, asking Miss Star Effiong to marry him, and she accepts. The couple embraces as the film ends.
