Storyline

In the movie "Last Straw", Morenike works as a busy executive while her husband Laolu takes care of the home. Morenike’s mother, Regina, is the CEO of the same company. Regina constantly insults Laolu, calling him a failure for not earning money. She also treats Morenike like a child and ruins her work meetings. The stress causes fights between the couple, and Laolu feels pushed aside. When Laolu tries to launch a farming app, investors pull out and steal his idea, leaving him broken. Later, Regina is in a car accident. Laolu visits her hospital room and is shocked to see her holding hands with a young bartender, her secret husband. He tells Morenike, who is heartbroken by the lie. Regina finally admits she hid the marriage for years to avoid society’s judgment. Morenike confronts her mother, pointing out the deep hypocrisy of judging Laolu’s worth while keeping a secret lover herself. She kicks Regina out of her home. After this painful truth comes out, Morenike realizes she let her mother’s harsh words damage her own marriage. She apologizes to Laolu, and they forgive each other. The film ends with Morenike leading a big business meeting on her own, showing her new confidence. Laolu brings her lunch, and they share a loving kiss, proving they are finally united. "Last Straw" is a clear lesson about family, truth, and choosing your partner over toxic expectations.
