Last Day Married

Idris and Nancy wake up on what they call their last day together, a married couple about to sign divorce papers. In Last Day Married, Nancy is disturbed and restless, and her lawyer reminds her the divorce signing is scheduled for the next morning. Idris cancels his work and pleads with her to spend this final day with him so they can mourn the marriage before it ends. Nancy is dedicated to her career and refused his pleas to start a family, and their arguments turned volatile. Idris, feeling neglected, turned to another woman named Cherry, and Nancy discovered the betrayal through a text message on his phone. Still, they cook together, laugh, and reconnect in a fragile attempt to relive what they once had. The following day, they arrive at the lawyer's office and sign the divorce papers. Idris, visibly regretful, asks the lawyer if he made a mistake, and the lawyer advises that separation may be necessary. Outside the office, Idris confronts Douglas, a man he accuses of coming between him and Nancy, though Nancy insists she was never unfaithful. The confrontation does not change the signed papers. Weeks later, Idris ends his affair with Cherry over the phone. Douglas finds him to apologize and reveals that Nancy still loves him. Nancy meets Idris and shares unexpected news: she is pregnant, a consequence of their last night together. Despite her earlier reservations about motherhood, she decides to keep the baby and tells Idris she knows he would be a good father. Idris, surprised but open to the idea, agrees he doesn't want her to be a single mother. He shows concern for her and the child and suggests they may rebuild their life together.
