For Eve's Sake

Rescued from the fists of a mob that left him trapped inside a tire, Abel owes his life to Dominic, a wealthy businessman who takes him in and turns him into a trusted helper around the house. Because women naturally warm to Abel, Dominic recruits him for a delicate mission: sing his praises to Eve, the woman he hopes to marry, and Abel reluctantly agrees out of gratitude. As Abel shuttles between them with gifts and dinner invitations, he ends up fixing Eve's car and helping her sort through her wardrobe, and the two grow unexpectedly close. Abel arranges a private birthday dinner for Eve, but Dominic shows up with a proposal ring, and Eve, overwhelmed, leaves the table. Her confession of love comes over the phone later, yet Abel insists she belongs with Dominic and tries to shut her out. Trish, Eve's friend, launches her own attempt at Dominic and gets rejected, and then Dominic walks in on Eve kissing Abel. In his fury he orders Abel out of the house, and Trish, no longer willing to hide, confronts Eve about always wanting Dominic and being tired of living in her shadow; Eve responds by asking Trish to leave. Shouldering the blame for the wreckage, Abel decides to leave for Ghana to build himself up, and despite Eve's pleas, he boards a plane. Months later Abel returns as a successful CEO, and when he crosses paths with Eve at a gathering, he admits he never stopped loving her and that he worked hard to become a man worthy of her. Eve confesses the same, and they embrace and kiss, finally reuniting.
