And Then Came Grace

Grace is a nurse and minister who serves at her church and works in a hospital. When her car breaks down, her friendly neighbor Kunle gives her a ride to church, and an unexpected connection begins. Church leaders Mama and Elder Patricia discuss Patricia's son Richard, who is returning from the UK, and Patricia shares a vision that Grace will marry Richard. When Richard calls to propose courtship, Grace is cautious but agrees to meet him. Mama strongly pressures Grace into a relationship with Richard and insists that Richard is God's will for her life. Grace ignores her own lack of peace and physical attraction and accepts Richard's marriage proposal, and Kunle is devastated but remains hopeful. On the day of the wedding, Richard stands at the altar and refuses to say 'I do.' He reveals that he never loved Grace, that he suffers from bipolar disorder, and that his mother manipulated the church with donations. He publicly humiliates Grace and the ministers before being forced away, and Grace flees the church in tears. Days later, Grace returns to confront Mama, who apologizes for being manipulated and admits her mistake. Grace decides to step away from the church building to seek God on her own. Kunle visits his estranged, dying father and reconciles with him, and his father blesses him and dies in peace. Grace and Kunle meet again to share their grief and healing, and they embrace in the church and make loving promises to each other.
