A Girl Like Nina

Nina sells fresh produce at a Lagos market and feels the tough economy in every small sale. In 'A Girl Like Nina', she meets Tobe when he arrives with a long shopping list, and the two recognise each other from a previous encounter. After she packs his items, he asks for her number, and she hesitantly shares it. Tobe later invites her over to his house to cook, admitting he is a novice in the kitchen, so she agrees on the condition that he stays and follows his instructions. Their time together goes smoothly, and he thanks her with money, which hints at a growing connection between them. Meanwhile, a young woman named Scarlett watches a YouTube program about young market sellers and is shocked to see Nina's face. Scarlett's mother, who lost a child 21 years ago, recognises Nina as her missing daughter and insists she is still alive. They track Nina down at her market stall, but Nina dismisses them, so they follow her home. There the mother explains that Nina is her long-lost twin sister, abducted during a deadly robbery. Nina refuses to believe the story and becomes hostile, and her friend Kemi urges her to consider the possibility. Nina reluctantly agrees to a DNA test, and the test confirms they are sisters. Nina moves in with her biological family and meets her wealthy father, who offers to set her up in the restaurant business, and Scarlett promises to take her to New York. The new bond between the sisters soon sours when Scarlett starts flirting with Tobe, the man Nina has feelings for. They quarrel publicly, with Scarlett belittling Nina's lack of education and Nina accusing Scarlett of being condescending, and their father orders them to stop. Tobe later confronts Scarlett, who admits she only fancied him, and he clears the air. He tells Nina he loves her, and they reconcile, with Scarlett apologising and giving her blessing.
