EARLY LIFE

Chioma Nwaoha Blessing was born on November 2, 1995, in Isiala Mbano Local Government Area of Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria. She hails from a close-knit and culturally enriched Igbo family that placed high value on tradition, education, and faith. Her upbringing was marked by strong moral grounding and a sense of purpose, which would later become the bedrock of her multifaceted career. Her father, Chief Chineme Aku I of Amarakun Nna, is a respected titleholder and community leader in their native town. He is known for his deep involvement in local affairs and his role in preserving Igbo customs and identity. Her mother, Lolo Ezinne Brigit Nwaoha, is a prominent figure in the local Catholic community, serving as the President of the Catholic Women Organization (CWO) in her parish. Through her mother's active religious leadership, Chioma was raised in an environment that emphasized service, discipline, and spiritual devotion. Chioma is the last of six children in the Nwaoha household. Her siblings include three brothers—Moses, Temple, and Victor “Viki”—and two sisters, Tina and Vivian. Each member of the family has carved their own path, with a few of them also venturing into the entertainment and media industry. Moses works as a celebrity manager, managing public figures and helping to shape talent across the entertainment sector. Victor, popularly known as “Viki,” is an actor and has appeared alongside Chioma in the 2024 Nollywood film Love, Live, and War. Being the youngest in a large family, Chioma grew up observing and learning from her older siblings, developing an early awareness of ambition, public presence, and creative expression. Her family’s entrepreneurial and public-service orientation deeply influenced her personality. It instilled in her a strong work ethic, emotional intelligence, and the drive to succeed in the limelight—qualities that would later define her career as an actress, influencer, and entrepreneur. Education Attended Madonna Model School, Owerri Obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication from the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) Her educational background in media studies equipped her with communication skills, branding insight, and professionalism—tools that have enhanced her on-screen and entrepreneurial success.

CAREER

Chioma Nwaoha’s journey in Nollywood reflects both natural talent and strategic growth. She is widely regarded as one of the most vibrant and fast-rising actresses of her generation. With her signature blend of confidence, elegance, and emotional intensity, Chioma has carved a distinct niche for herself in Nigeria’s ever-evolving film industry. Her passion for acting was inspired at an early age by Nollywood veterans, particularly the bold and expressive performances of Mercy Johnson, whom she cites as a major influence. Determined to make her mark, Chioma began auditioning for roles while still pursuing her studies, eventually earning her first major role in the film All for Nma (2021), where she played the character Busoma. The role showcased her range and charisma, earning her wide acclaim and serving as her official breakout in Nollywood. Following that performance, Chioma quickly became a staple in the romantic drama and urban social thriller genres. She has appeared in over 50 Nollywood films, including Against All Odds (2025), Over Her Shoulder (2025), and When Love Prevails (2025). Often portraying young, ambitious, and fashion-forward women navigating love, betrayal, class divides, and personal transformation, her nuanced performances have made her especially relatable to millennial and Gen Z viewers. Chioma is affiliated with Bigmami TV, a popular digital entertainment network that caters to online audiences through YouTube and streaming platforms. In addition to acting, Chioma has proven herself behind the scenes as a producer for films like A Love to Last (2024) and My Place in You (2023), and made her writing debut with Feelings Attached (2024). Her portfolio includes collaborations with industry veterans such as Frederick Leonard, Zubby Michael, and Van Vicker. Beyond Nollywood, she has established herself as a formidable entrepreneur under her brand alias “Spanky Diva,” founding ventures such as Getslim by Spanky, a wellness brand, and Chioma Nwaoha Premium, a high-end fashion and skincare label. Her ability to leverage her celebrity status to scale her businesses has made her a prominent figure in the African beauty and fashion industries.

PERSONAL LIFE

Chioma Nwaoha, despite her growing fame and vibrant public persona, maintains a relatively private and controlled personal life. She is currently single and has made a conscious effort to shield her romantic affairs and family dynamics from the scrutiny of social media and gossip blogs. This intentional privacy allows her to focus on the key areas that define her life—career growth, personal development, and expanding her entrepreneurial empire. In a media landscape where celebrities are often pressured to reveal every detail of their personal lives, Chioma’s discretion stands out. Despite her low-key approach to relationships, Chioma has occasionally been at the center of public speculation, notably rumored to be in a relationship with fellow Nollywood actor Alex Chukwuebuka, though neither party has confirmed the reports. As a public figure, Chioma has also addressed beauty-related conversations with striking honesty, expressing openness to procedures like liposuction to encourage body positivity. In June 2024, she made headlines for gifting her mother a car, a gesture that was celebrated by fans but also attracted unfounded rumors regarding the source of her wealth. Chioma chose to let her extensive body of work and multiple successful business streams serve as the rebuttal to such baseless claims, standing as a counter-narrative to societal biases against successful women.
