Biography

Tyrone E. Terrence is an acclaimed playwright, filmmaker, director, and producer known for his contributions to African theatre and television. Born to a Jamaican father and a Nigerian mother, he attended the University of Lagos and trained as a filmmaker at AFDA (The School for the Creative Economy). He has written over 20 plays. His breakout hit was A Husband's Wife (2003), a intense domestic drama that has been performed globally in cities like Lagos, London, and Atlanta. Other popular plays include Yoruba Romance (a romantic comedy exploring inter-tribal marriage), Private Lies, A Pound of Flesh, and God is an Orphan. Terrence has lent his creative talents to major broadcasting projects, including writing for the BBC World Service Trust dramas Wetin Dey and Sara's Choice. He is also the creator behind the TV series Living Large and Stitches. His productions have featured some of Nigeria's most prominent acting talents, including Joke Silva, Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD), Genevieve Nnaji, Kate Henshaw, and Norbert Young.
