Treasure Chikwendu

EARLY LIFE

Treasure Chikwendu has spoken about losing her father and attending her first audition that same weekend; her mother strongly encouraged her to go, telling her that life continues. She has described her family and friends as her primary sources of inspiration and motivation. At age 16 she was interested in becoming a radio presenter after watching a series. She later decided to pursue acting full-time around age 21, encouraged by a cousin (who was also her roommate at the time) who teased her for being dramatic and suggested she try acting. In secondary school she was an active athlete, competing in 100m, 200m, and 400m races and accumulating medals (reported total of 31) from inter-house, intra-house, inter-school, and federal college games. She also played basketball and table tennis and nearly represented her school at University Games (NUGA).

CAREER

Treasure began her professional journey in stage plays and gradually moved into television series, short films, feature projects, commercials, and digital content. Early and notable credits include appearances in The Johnsons, You Must Be Mad! Yes You Girl, The Secret Place, Searching for Clues, Johnnie & Glyde, U Fit with Kate, My Flatmates, and The Wedding Plan. She has roles in the short film Halimah (2022) and the 2026 project The Silence Between Us. She gained wider visibility for her breakout role as Ujunwa in the Showmax original series Cheta M (also referred to as Chet’M). Other projects include the Christian film Redemption of Jane (in which she played the lead character Jane and earned recognition/nomination attention), Agu Nwanyi (Lioness), I’m on WhatsApp, theatre production They Call Me, ‘Woman!’ by Thespian Family Theatre & Productions, and various short films and monologues. She has appeared in commercials and branded content for Maggi, Amstel Malta, Baileys, Nufi Tigernut, and others, and works as a fashion, commercial, and runway model. She is also active as a producer and voice artiste, maintains an acting reel, and creates lifestyle, faith, fashion, and behind-the-scenes content. She has discussed the challenges of early auditions (including long, stressful call times) and nearly quitting acting at one point before continuing.

PERSONAL LIFE

Treasure keeps much of her private life out of the public eye. She has emphasized the support of her mother (especially during the period of her father’s death and her first audition) and values family and friends highly. She currently lives and works in Lagos, Nigeria, balancing acting, modeling, producing, content creation, and real-estate activities.

Treasure presents herself as a multi-hyphenate creative who “morphs a thousand faces.” Her Linktree and social platforms showcase acting reels, monologues, project trailers, commercials, and a professional CV. She has participated in industry conversations about the realities of Nollywood. She continues to expand across film, television, modeling, producing, and digital content while based in Lagos.
