EARLY LIFE

Prosper Edesiri Arhawho was born in Warri, Delta State, Nigeria, and hails from Uwheru. He earned a bachelor's degree in Mass Communication from Delta State University, Abraka (2013–2017). He completed his compulsory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Plateau State from 2018 to March 2019. He also holds a certificate in filmmaking (Directing, Cinematography, Scriptwriting, Editing) from the High Definition Film Academy in Abuja, where he was recognized as the best directing and editing student.

CAREER

Prosper Edesiri Arhawho is a Nigerian filmmaker, director, cinematographer, producer, and writer, sometimes credited as Prosper Edesiri. During his university days, he made movies as part of an elective in his Mass Communication course. In 2017, prior to his NYSC, he wrote, produced, and directed the stage play Gold Dust in Asaba, Delta State, addressing social issues. During his NYSC in Jos, Plateau State, he directed and produced his feature film debut, The Clarion Call (2019), which explores the lifestyle, challenges, and impact of NYSC corps members in Nigeria. His directorial credits include shorts such as Talk (2019, student), Sortie (2020), Tamuno (2021), Onome (2022), Wedding Eve (2022, student), Oghalé (2023), Cake (2022), Hate at First Meet (2024), Blood Ties and Lies (2024), and Wrong Side of Love (2024). As a cinematographer, he worked on Yéin (2026), The Medics (2023 TV mini-series), With Love from Bayelsa (2023 short), and Reversal (2022).

Prosper Edesiri Arhawho's awards include Best Overall Film and Best Directing for Wedding Eve (2020), Best Directing, Cinematography, and Editing for Talk (2019) at the High Definition Film Academy Students Graduation and Short Film Award, and a NYSC recognition award for The Clarion Call (2019). He views platforms like the Harlem Film House and Hip Hop Film Festival as essential for showcasing stories to diverse audiences, especially for young filmmakers.
