EARLY LIFE
Jab Adu, born Joseph Abiodun Babajide Adu, was born on December 28, 1932, in Calabar, Ogun State, Nigeria. He studied at St. Gregory's College in the Obalende neighborhood of Lagos from 1941 to 1946.
CAREER
Jab Adu was a pioneering Nigerian filmmaker, known for his work as an actor, producer, and director. He was recognized for his roles in "The Village Headmaster" (1968-1988) as Bassey Okon, "Countdown at Kusini" (1976), "Hostages" (1996), "Saworoide" (1999) as Lagbayi, and "Wetin Dey" (2007-2008). He directed the 1977 Nigerian film "Bisi, Daughter of the River," which was the highest-grossing film in Nigeria for several decades.
