Caroline Midimo is a veteran Kenyan method actress who has spent over 25 years in the professional acting industry. She is widely celebrated for her versatile performances across local television soap operas, regional dramas, and international feature films. She achieved widespread recognition starring as a prostitute in Heart and Soul, Kenya's first-ever television soap opera. Midimo plays the prominent, beloved character Mary Mwakazi, a warm yet firm Christian mother, on the popular drama series, Kina, streaming on DStv. In May 2026, she earned her first nomination for Best Supporting Actress in a Film at the Kalasha Awards. She starred alongside Robert Agengo and Alexander Karim in the character-driven Mombasa thriller The Dog. Her other notable films include Country Queen (2022), Pink Ladies (2023–2024), Makutano Junction, Shamba Shape Up, Mali, Reflection, Noose of Gold, Lost in Africa (2010), The Dreams of Elibidi (2010), Chaguo (2022), Tipo (2022), and Walking with Jesus.

EARLY LIFE

Midimo’s passion for performance began during her primary school years at St. Mary’s Girls Primary School and continued through Menengai High School in Nakuru, where she won "Best Performing Artist" at the National Drama Festival. To make ends meet upon relocating to Nairobi, she initially worked as a traditional dancer at the Kenya National Theatre before booking theatrical stage plays like Romeo and Juliet and The Government Inspector.

As a dedicated method actor, Midimo relies heavily on real-life experiences—both observed and personally endured—to bring authentic emotional depth to her characters. She frequently collaborates with fellow industry veterans like Robert Agengo and continues to advocate for raw, honest storytelling in East African cinema.
