Biography
EARLY LIFE
Adesuwa Oronsaye's passion for acting began as a child, participating in church and school plays. She pursued a Bachelor's degree in Theatre Arts at the University of Benin, where she was involved in stage and television productions for school. She grew up in Delta State and schooled in Benin-City.
CAREER
Upon graduating in 2009, Adesuwa initially worked in the corporate world as a Marketing/Events Executive for a radio station, had a stint with a digital marketing agency, and served as a Business Development Manager and Training Coordinator at a media training institute in Lagos. In 2018, she left her corporate career to focus full-time on acting. Her first professional role in Nollywood was as a doctor in the ROK movie 'One Night'. She gained significant recognition for her role as Princess Ene in the Africa Magic epic series 'Ajoche'. Her filmography also includes 'Inhibition' (2019), 'Beautiful Monster' (2022), 'Secrets and Lies' (2023), 'How the shooter got shot', 'My grandfather's wife', 'I will have an affair', 'Two can play at that', 'Living in Bondage (Breaking Free)', and 'Your Excellency'. She further honed her skills by enrolling in the Screen Acting course at EbonyLife Creative Academy in 2021. She plans to continue creating quality work, building her production company, and advocating for social justice, peace, and development.
PERSONAL LIFE
Adesuwa Oronsaye is a devout Christian, which she cites as her greatest influence. She is inspired and motivated by her family and friends. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with loved ones, and also values solitude for creative regeneration. She admires individuals making significant progress in business, politics, ministry, and leadership. Memorable life experiences include her upbringing in Delta State, schooling in Benin-City, youth service in Imo State, and professional life in Lagos, with the thrill of being on a film set being a highlight. She defines her personal style as 'comfort and class,' preferring modest attire. Her cherished wardrobe items are dresses and one-piece clothing. She enjoys reading motivational books and loves to travel and explore new destinations.
