THE IMANI EFFECT

Two men watching a soccer match are suddenly arrested by a woman with security, setting the stage for the legal battles in THE IMANI EFFECT. Imani, a successful businesswoman, faces the fallout when her husband Terry steals company funds to buy a car; she freezes his accounts and has him detained. Their confrontations expose deep resentments—Imani calls him a failure, Terry lashes out—and his mother urges responsibility, but trust remains fragile. Attempts at reconciliation are strained: during a tense dinner, they argue about money, though Terry later sends lunch as a peace offering. He admits to moving the funds, and the accountant plans to take the case to court. Meanwhile, Imani's client tries to flirt with her at her construction site, her husband arrives and a fight breaks out between the two men, leaving Imani's husband injured. At home, Imani mocks her husband for trying to fight someone bigger than him. After reconciling, Imani and Terry work together, playfully hiding their intimacy from a colleague. Imani descends a staircase in an evening gown, and they share a romantic moment before a date. At a restaurant, Terry presents a plate inscribed with 'Will you let me love you today and forever'; Imani voices her fears of betrayal, and he reassures her.
