The Anchor

In the movie The Anchor Ufuoma complains about her birthday gifts. She tells Kelvin her colleagues get trips diamonds and perfumes but she only gets his hand painted portrait and a cheap bag from the market. When daughter Rose asks she forces a smile and lies that she likes it. Kelvin feels hurt. Next day at breakfast Rose says they walked two hours in hot sun for the bag. Ufuoma says she hates it and leaves. She demands a new car and wants money from savings. Kelvin says they must save for Rose good school but Ufuoma calls him a bad husband. At work colleagues give her expensive designer gifts. Boss gives her big presentation for Parallex account. It clashes with daughter school meeting but Ufuoma chooses work and sends Kelvin instead. At night she is stranded. Rich client Mr Akin stops in his luxury car and gives her ride home. He carries her bags to the door. Kelvin sees the bags and gets angry. Fight starts. Ufuoma kept the money for his art studio. She says he has no ambition and ruined her life. She screams that keeping the pregnancy was her biggest mistake. Rose hears everything runs away crying. Heartbroken Kelvin tells Ufuoma to get out. Ufuoma wakes up in a dream of rich life. She has penthouse assistant Juliet Mercedes car and works with Akin. They drink champagne on yacht and kiss but she feels empty. At big art show she meets successful Kelvin. She cries says sorry wants him back. Kelvin says he still loves her but cannot trust her and leaves for Paris. She stands alone sad. She wakes up shocked. It was nightmare. She hugs Kelvin and Rose cries says sorry many times. Tells Rose she is the best thing in her life. Promises Kelvin she will change. At work she says no to Akin dinner invite. She makes candlelit dinner at home says sorry again. Gives him envelope. It is acceptance letter for Paris art scholarship. She applied secretly and wrote essay why he turned it down 13 years ago. Kelvin is very happy. Family is together and full of love again.
