Moving On

Amanda, a product manager, arrives late to a meeting after her car breaks down. Her boss introduces JJ, the creative director of Anglo Advertising, as the partner on a new production, and to their mutual shock the two recognize each other as estranged spouses. Alone, they argue. JJ insists he did not know she was involved, and Amanda accuses him of condescension. Forced to collaborate, they meet repeatedly to develop a pitch. Amanda keeps the arrangement from her boyfriend Uche. JJ's girlfriend Debbie tries to bond with the daughter Amanda and JJ share, Chizzy, but Chizzy resents Debbie. Chizzy pours water on Debbie at a restaurant and later has a hot oil accident in the kitchen. Uche proposes marriage to Amanda, and she hesitates. JJ's friend advises him to let go completely or admit he still loves Amanda. Amanda goes to JJ's house to return the divorce papers. Their conversation becomes a deep reckoning. Amanda explains she left because she felt suffocated and wanted control over her own life, and JJ apologizes for being selfish. Amanda reveals Uche has proposed but she has not signed the papers. They admit they still love each other, and they embrace. They kiss, and they decide to give their marriage another chance. The reunited family picks up Chizzy from school. Chizzy is excited about moving back into their home, and Amanda and JJ look forward to being a family again. The three share a joyful ride, planning pizza and ice cream.
