Inndo

In "Inndo," Inndo, a young woman, endures her wicked stepmother's cruelty after her mother's death. Her father owes cows to Alhaji Tanko, and her stepmother secretly arranges Inndo's marriage to him to settle the debt. While fetching firewood, Inndo finds and nurses a wounded man, Ya'u, at her friend Rasheeda's house, falling in love with him. Rasheeda, jealous, makes advances at Ya'u, who rejects her. Enraged, Rasheeda tells Inndo's stepmother, who reports Inndo to the village elders. They flog and humiliate Inndo, only to learn Ya'u is a leader's son, prompting an apology. Inndo's father stops Tanko from taking her, seeking another way to pay the debt. Rasheeda, remorseful, apologizes to Inndo for her betrayal, leaving Inndo to reconcile her feelings and future.
