At his new job, Max is immediately drawn to Brenda, the older HR manager, and after her car breaks down, they share a date that leads to a passionate affair. They keep their relationship secret for months, ignoring friend Tony's warnings about the age gap and potential problems. Meanwhile, Val and Max's mother are close friends, adding another layer of complexity. But in 'Demand and Supply,' Val, Max's mother, catches them kissing. She confronts Brenda, accusing her of betrayal and immorality. The conflict intensifies as Val attempts suicide, landing in the hospital.
