A Perfect Proposal

Abigail, a young single mother, is washing clothes outside Daniel's office building when she splashes dirty water over him. Daniel, a client, has her fired from Vantage Group. Her friend Shama arranges a discreet cleaning job for a private client, and Daniel sends Abigail away when he finds her, yet he doubles her pay through Shama. Their paths keep crossing, and during a storm he makes Abigail and Sarah stay in his house, then hires her as a live-in worker for ₦200,000 a month. He takes Sarah to school, buys gifts, and tells Abigail he will pay for her degree and has signed up as Sarah's guardian. Abigail explains that Sarah's father abandoned her when he learned she was pregnant and her own father disowned her. Daniel says losing both parents changed his views on marriage and family. Abigail has grown uneasy about living under a man's roof, and Bri, Daniel's longtime friend, visits and treats her as his charity project. Bri makes Daniel miss a movie outing with Sarah, and Abigail says she must protect Sarah from becoming attached. Abigail and Sarah accidentally walk in on Bri in Daniel's bedroom wearing only a nightgown, Bri turns on them, and then she tells Daniel she has loved him for twenty years. Daniel rejects her and says he loves Abigail and sees Sarah as his child. Abigail packs to leave, but Shama helps her sort out her feelings, and Bri steps aside as his friend and says she will help him. Daniel then proposes to Abigail. She is delivering a cake for a client when she finds him kneeling before her, and he says that if she had not poured that water on him, they would never have spoken. Sarah begs her mother to say yes, Abigail accepts, and Daniel places the ring on her finger. The couple is surrounded by cheers, congratulations, and embraces as they pose for photos.
