A Love Like Mine

Dr. Adeola first encounters Niniola when she is rushed into his hospital unconscious and bleeding, the men who brought her slipping away rather than paying a deposit. After nurse Jumoke and receptionist Abigail argue over policy, Adeola orders her blood tests and covers her bills himself, and when Niniola wakes a week later, she is confused and alone. They meet again at a market after her discharge, and he offers her the guest room in his house; she hesitates and repeatedly tries to leave, but he convinces her to stay until she finds her footing, so she accepts his charity and begins to trust him. This arrangement in 'A Love Like Mine' sets off a chain of confrontations, because his mother, Mrs. Otedola, returns from a trip and calls Niniola a peasant, and when Niniola suffers a seizure during the argument, the older woman demands she be thrown out. Adeola refuses to send Niniola away and invents a position for her as his housekeeper, knowing that his mother will not easily accept his protection. His girlfriend Elena grows jealous of the young woman living under his roof, and his ex-girlfriend Brenda complicates things further by reappearing and causing public scenes. The incident is filmed and spreads across social media, and Elena, after seeing the video and hearing accusations, asks Adeola directly whether he is sleeping with Niniola.
