Biography
EARLY LIFE
Vanessa Onu grew up in a large family of 10 siblings as the tenth and last child. She lost her mother shortly after her own birth and later lost her father. This left her and her siblings with significant challenges. She described herself as a rebellious child during her upbringing and took on multiple responsibilities for her siblings, often acting as different parental figures in one person. She received limited moral and emotional support but occasional material help.
Vanessa Onu began her entertainment journey as a video vixen and dancer, appearing in music videos for artists including Rude Boy, Tunde (Styl-Plus), Koffi Olomide, Peruzzi, Burna Boy, Phyno, and Simi. She was also the first runner-up in the Miss Aviation pageant. She transitioned into acting and has featured in several Nollywood films, including, Busted (2018) — as Teenage Queen, Rising Thunder, Lonely Tears, My Sister and I, Salome, On-locked.
