Biography

EARLY LIFE

Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi was born Prince Adeyeye Enitan on 17 October 1974 in Ifẹ, Western State, Nigeria (now Osun State). He is the fifth of seven children of Prince John Oluropo Ogunwusi and Princess Sidikat Wuraola Ogunwusi. He attended Subuola Memorial Nursery and Primary School, Ibadan, Loyola College, Ibadan, and St. Peters Secondary School, Ile-Ife. He later graduated as an accountant from The Polytechnic, Ibadan.

CAREER

Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and an associate accounting technician. He is also a certified member of the Institute of Directors and the Global Real Estate Institute. He holds honorary doctorate degrees in public administration from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and in law from Igbinedion University, and serves as the Chancellor of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He was selected as the 51st Ooni of Ife from the Giesi ruling house on 26 October 2015 and was crowned on 7 December 2015. As the Ooni, he is the spiritual leader of Ile-Ife and the entire Yoruba race. In his professional career, he is an astute entrepreneur with over 12 years of experience in Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) projects, including the development of over 2,500 housing units. He fostered trade relationships through the Association for International Business (AIB) and facilitated projects like the Sparkwest Steel Galvanizing Plant and the resuscitation of National Iron Ore Mining Company Limited and Jakura Mines. He was a key facilitator for Dangote Group's 'up-country supply chain consortium' between 1996 and 1999. He also revitalized rice processing and promoted Ofada rice production. His real estate ventures include the Essential Homes product and development of prestigious estates like Northpointe Estate and Jacob Mews Estate in Lagos. He initiated a 'Power Project' in his hometown and developed the Inagbe Grand Resorts and Leisure. He is a Director on the Board of Imperial Homes Mortgage Bank Limited and Fina Trust Microfinance Bank Limited, and is the founder and Managing Director of Gran Imperio Group.

PERSONAL LIFE

Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi had his first child, Princess Adeola Aanuolouwapo Ogunwusi (born May 1994), with Omolara Olatubosun. He has been married multiple times. His previous marriages include Adebukola Bombata (2008-2016), Zaynab Otiti Obanor (2016-2017), and Prophetess Morenike Naomi Oluwaseyi (2018-2021). Between September and October 2022, he married six new wives: Mariam Anako, Elizabeth Opeoluwa Akinmuda, Queen Tobi Phillips-Ogunwusi, Olori Ashley Afolasade Ogunwusi, Ronke Ademiluyi, and Edna Wuraola Ubebe. He is known as an advocate for the empowerment of women and young people and a philanthropist, providing support through the House of Oduduwa Foundation and the Hopes Alive Initiative.
