EARLY LIFE

Michelle Dede was born on March 23, 1984, in Germany, to Brownson Dede, a Nigerian diplomat and former ambassador to Ethiopia and Australia. Due to her father’s career, she had a cosmopolitan upbringing, living and receiving education in multiple countries including Brazil, Australia, Ethiopia, the United Kingdom, and others. This global exposure shaped her as a multilingual “global citizen” with appreciation for diverse cultures. She studied Fashion Design and Marketing at the American College in London, U.K., and also holds a post-graduate degree in Communications and P.R from the same institution.

CAREER

Michelle Dede began her media career in 2006 when she co-hosted the debut season of Big Brother Naija alongside Olisa Adibua. She transitioned successfully from television hosting to acting. She cites Oprah Winfrey as her inspiration as a T.V host. Notable works include, Co-producer of the 2013 romantic comedy Flower Girl, Starred as Tari Gambadia in the M-Net series Desperate Housewives Africa, Lead roles in films such as What Lies Within (2017). She also appeared in films like, Moms at War (2018), Up North (2018), Eve (2019), A Soldier’s Story 2, The Therapist, La Femme Anjola, Third Party, and others. She is also active as a voice-over artist and events host.

PERSONAL LIFE

Michelle Dede is known for being outspoken about personal growth, self-acceptance, and faith. She is the sister of comedian Najite Dede. She has been vocal about her desire to get married and has shared experiences of catching wedding bouquets multiple times while remaining single. She is an advocate for autism awareness and gender-based violence (GBV). She is also a brand ambassador for a beauty company, Emmaus Beauty. She maintains an active and inspirational presence on social media.
