Biography
EARLY LIFE
Mary Uranta was born and raised in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. She grew up in a Pentecostal Christian home with seven siblings and four step-brothers. She attended Sacred Heart Nursery and Primary School and later Holy Rosary Girls Secondary School in Port Harcourt, where she developed an interest in dancing and stage-acting.
CAREER
Uranta made her acting debut in the 2000 film 'Girls Hostel' but took a break to complete her education at Rivers State University. She returned to the industry in 2006 with a major role in 'Secret Mission'. She has since featured in numerous Nollywood films including 'Love Doctor', 'Critical Passion', and 'Mistress'. She also holds a postgraduate diploma in Theatre from the London School of Arts Academy.
PERSONAL LIFE
She is the founder of the Mary Uranta Foundation, a charitable organization dedicated to improving the welfare of underprivileged children in Opobo, Rivers State. She also established a film production company called 50th Academy to support growth in the Nigerian film industry.
