EARLY LIFE
Longinus Anyaehiechukwu Anokwute, widely recognized as Chief Imo, is a prominent Nigerian comedian, actor, filmmaker, and musician. Born on May 19, 1979, in Umuduru, Ekwe, within the Isu Local Government Area of Imo State, Nigeria. Chief Imo is the youngest of six children, comprising four boys and two girls. He was primarily raised by his mother and elder sister. He began his education at Ekwe Central School, Umuduru, where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate. He then attended All Saints Secondary School in Gombe State, where he completed his secondary education.
CAREER
Chief Imo’s foray into the entertainment industry began in 2001 when he joined a local drama club. His professional acting career took off in 2008, and he has since featured in over 60 Nollywood and Igbo films. He is renowned for his comedic roles. In addition to acting, Chief Imo is a producer, director, showbiz promoter, and scriptwriter. He has also ventured into music. Throughout his career, Chief Imo has collaborated with various notable Igbo actors and comedians, including Nkem Owoh (Osuofia), Chiwetalu Agu, Chacha Eke-Faani, Zubby Michael, Uche Nancy, Chief Zebrudaya (Chika Okpala). Chief Imo married to Mrs. Blessing Anokwute. The couple is blessed with three children: twin boys and a daughter.
