Folarin Falana, better known by his stage name Falz, is a Nigerian rapper, songwriter, and actor

EARLY LIFE

Falz was born in the local government area of Mushin, Lagos State, to lawyers and human rights activists Funmi Falana and Femi Falana. He completed his basic and secondary school education at St. Leo's Catholic Primary School, Ikeja and Olashore International School, Osun State respectively. He is an alumnus of the University of Reading, England, having graduated with an LLB honors degree in Law. He was called to the bar in 2012 after graduating from the Nigerian Law School in Abuja.

CAREER

Falz began his music career in secondary school forming a group called The School Boys. He released Shakara: The Mixtape in 2009. He gained recognition with singles like 'Wahz Up Guy', 'High Class' and 'Currency'. His debut album Wazup Guy was released in 2014, followed by Stories That Touch in 2015, 27 in 2017, and Moral Instruction in 2019. He is also an actor appearing in films like Jenifa's Diary, New Money, and others.

PERSONAL LIFE

Falz is known for his activism, including participation in the EndSARS protests against police brutality. He released tracks addressing social and political issues such as 'This Is Nigeria' and 'Yakubu'.
