EARLY LIFE
Born on 10 July 1977 in Forest Gate, London, to Nigerian parents of Igbo descent. Father Arinze was a doctor and mother Obiajulu a pharmacist. Father killed in car crash in Nigeria when Ejiofor was 11. Attended Dulwich College and London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.
CAREER
Debuted in Amistad (1997). Breakthrough with Dirty Pretty Things (2002). Starred in Love Actually (2003), Children of Men (2006), 12 Years a Slave (2013) earning BAFTA for Best Actor. Played Mordo in Doctor Strange films. Directed and starred in The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind (2019).
PERSONAL LIFE
Sisters Zain Asher (CNN correspondent) and Kandi (GP doctor). Supporter of Crystal Palace F.C. Involved in charity work in Nigeria.
