Biography

EARLY LIFE

Chinenye Ulaegbu was born in Nasarawa State, Northern Nigeria, to an Igbo Christian family from Oji River, Enugu State. She grew up in the northern part of Nigeria with her parents and siblings. She attended Government Science School in Wamba, Nasarawa State, for her early education, followed by Johnbosco High School in Nasarawa State. Ulaegbu later pursued a degree in Banking and Finance from the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), Enugu, and completed her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). She also attended Delyork Creative Academy for filmmaking studies. Her interest in acting began during high school through school plays.

PERSONAL LIFE

Ulaegbu is single and not married, with no biological children. She is in a relationship with her boyfriend, a teenage love interest from her time in the North, who now resides in the United States; they reunited after a period apart. She keeps her family life private, rarely sharing details about her parents or siblings on social media. Ulaegbu is the second child and second daughter in a family of eight, including her parents (Mr. and Mrs. Ulaegbu, serial entrepreneurs based in the North) and siblings: older sister Eucharia Ulaegbu, a younger sister, and three brothers—Joel Ulaegbu (an upcoming Nollywood actor), Onyekachi Peter Ulaegbu, and Onyekachukwu Ulaegbu. She speaks English, Igbo, and Hausa fluently, has a tattoo on her hand, and identifies as straight. Reflecting on her first love, she describes it as a selfless, unconditional teenage romance that taught her about the magic of kissing without taking advantage of her innocence, and she yearns for such a connection again.

CAREER

Chinenye Ulaegbu is a Nigerian Nollywood actress, producer, director, model, fitness instructor, and brand influencer. She is the founder and CEO of Dioda Fashion House (also known as Diodafitness), a fitness fashion brand that imports gym wears and accessories from China; she started as a fitness consultant and coach during university. Her acting career began professionally in 2013 after a friend introduced her to a movie producer, though she paused during university to focus on studies. She took a break in 2016 after two movies to attend film school, returning in 2018 with enhanced skills. Her breakthrough came in 2018 with the TV series Ojukwu and the role of Helen in A Call from the Past (2019), produced by Uche Mbunabo. She has featured in over 30 movies, excelling in roles with talent, precision, adaptability, and creativity, often alongside stars like Pete Edochie, Eucharia Anunobi, and Wole Ojo.
