Anita Alaire Afoke Asuoha, popularly known as real warri pikin is a Nigerian comedian, social Media host and actor, she hails from Delta state born on 29 October 1990 to her Ijaw father and Urhobo mother, Anita Asuoha is married to Victor Ikechukwu Asuoha in 2013 she has featured in movies like, the waiter and TV series like visa on arrival.

EARLY LIFE

Anita Alaire Afoke Asuoha grew up in Warri, Delta State, in a culturally diverse household. Her father is Ijaw from Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State, while her mother is Urhobo. She is the third of six children and often attributes her resilience and comic inspiration to her upbringing in Warri, a city known for its vibrant humor and storytelling culture. Anita pursued higher education at Benson Idahosa University, Benin City, where she studied Political Science and Public Administration, graduating in 2012. Shortly after, in 2013, she married Victor Ikechukwu Asuoha, whom she credits as her biggest supporter. Together, they have three children and reside in Abuja, Nigeria.

CAREER

Anita’s journey into the spotlight began in 2008 when she participated in the Glo Rock ‘N’ Rule Dance Competition, emerging as the winner. This victory earned her a Globacom ambassadorship in 2009, marking her first significant entry into the entertainment industry. In 2011, she auditioned for the Maltina Dance All Family Competition, finishing as the second overall best with her family, further solidifying her reputation as a multi-talented performer. Despite her success in dance, Anita’s love for comedy and storytelling took center stage. Adopting the stage name Real Warri Pikin, she began performing stand-up comedy at major events across Nigeria, including Warri Again, Akpororo vs. Akpororo, Man on Fire, and the AY Show. Her performances have taken her to international stages in Ghana, Senegal, the United States, and beyond. Anita’s comedic talents have also translated seamlessly into acting. She has starred in several Nollywood films, including: Prophetess Fate of Alakada Aki and Pawpaw The Ghost and Tout Too Intricate Lemonade Merry Men 2 In January 2021, Anita launched a comedy series titled School of Thought, which she also accompanied with a music single featuring Nigerian artist Teni. The series explores societal issues through the lens of comedy, further showcasing her versatility. In October 2021, she launched her clothing line, Real Warri Pikin Merch, which features a range of casual wear inspired by her vibrant personality and catchphrases.

She founded the Real Warri Pikin Foundation, a non-governmental organization dedicated to supporting women facing mental health struggles, providing resources, therapy, and opportunities for empowerment. Her foundation also focuses on financial literacy and skill acquisition for women and young people. Despite her widespread popularity, Anita has faced her share of controversies. In 2022, she sparked a heated debate on social media after opening up about her struggles with depression and a previous suicide attempt.
