The Price Of Us

Layo plans events in Lagos, chasing the contract that will make her name. In The Price of Us, Mrs. Gbemisola of Ellan Locks Events gives her that contract: a 2 million naira advance for an engagement party. Layo celebrates with her friend Dora and takes a cab home. Cab driver Kelechi is under intense pressure: his girlfriend Tonia is pregnant, hospital bills are piling, and rent is due. He has told his friend Tobi how worried he is. Hours after the advance lands, Layo's balance reads 107,000 naira. She and Dora go to the bank, then to the street where she suspects the money went. She spots Kelechi, the driver from earlier, and confronts him. Kelechi admits he spent the money on hospital bills and expenses, with only 500,000 left. Layo orders him to report to her every day until the debt is cleared, and he agrees. Days later, Tonia tells Kelechi the baby is not his, and he is left humiliated and distraught. He goes to Layo's apartment to apologize. He explains that he spent the money because he was desperate, and he reveals that Tonia had lied about being pregnant. Layo opens up about her own struggles to build her event business. She forgives him, and they begin to bond. Layo sends Kelechi a job link, and he applies and gets the job. He sends her 300,000 naira as a first installment and confesses that he has developed feelings for her. Layo receives another event opportunity from Mrs. Gbemisola and celebrates with Dora. Kelechi officially asks Layo to be his girlfriend, and she accepts. They share a kiss.
