She's Perfect

In She's Perfect, Eden and Katerine are a devoted couple, and Eden's housemates, Tochi and Mega, see their playful intimacy. Mega mocks Katerine's cooking and dares Eden to ask if she has had sex. Eden asks, and she says no, though a friend reminds her she has not told him everything. Katerine bonds with Tochi and Mega, and Mama Tochi, Eden's foster mother, accepts her and learns she lost her mother at fifteen. Eden proposes, and Katerine accepts. Before the wedding, Habibat tells Eden that Katerine had been pregnant. Eden confronts Katerine, and she admits she was raped at twenty-one, became pregnant, and terminated it at two weeks. She says she did not lie because sex requires consent, but Eden calls it lies and ends things. Habibat says she tried to protect Katerine, and Katerine throws her out. Tochi and other friends describe Katerine's strength and secondary virginity, but Eden stays fixed. Katerine kneels and begs Eden not to throw her away, and Eden walks away. Katerine relocates, and Mama Tochi gives her a duplex and Tochi sends money and checks on her. Over six months, she rebuilds her catering business, and Tochi confesses that her happiness fulfills him. He asks her out, sends a dress, proposes, and she accepts. Eden dates someone online and is caught and beaten by the woman's husband. He tries to return to Katerine, cannot find her, and Mega admits that Tochi and Katerine are together. Eden goes to Tochi's house, tries to kiss Katerine, attacks Tochi, and the two men struggle on the floor as Katerine screams. Katerine later walks down the aisle in white. In voice-over, she says the question about sex had a true answer of no, because what was done to her was something she survived, not something she did. Tochi waits at the altar and says some men fear a woman who has been through fire, but the woman who walks out whole and clear-eyed is a privilege. They embrace, kiss, and walk off as the celebration begins.
