My Single Mother

Dara is a teenage Christian vlogger who lives with her single mother, Sarah. In My Single Mother, she makes videos about faith and family, helps with chores, and studies. She worries about leaving for university next year. Her friend Joseph visits, and Dara tells him she wants to find Sarah a boyfriend before she goes. Dara is convinced Sarah needs a loving partner after years of selfless devotion. Dara records a video asking viewers to send recommendations. Many men respond, and Joseph helps her sift through the applications. They start meeting candidates. Sarah already has a boyfriend, Ola, and he has grown cold and critical. She is determined to give Ola a chance, but Dara dislikes him and sees through him. Sarah's friend Grace comforts her. Grace is hiding an affair with Ola, and she pressures him to end his relationship with Sarah. Ola is caught between his girlfriend and his lover. Sarah discovers Ola and Grace together. She comes home heartbroken, and Dara holds her tight while she weeps. Dara recites scriptures from the Bible about trusting God and guarding the heart. Sarah prays intensely for peace and strength. She lets Ola go, sure the relationship was dragging her down. Dara becomes even more determined to find a man worthy of her mother. Dara and Joseph keep matchmaking, and Sarah agrees to meet a man who says he met Dara and wanted to meet Dara's mother after seeing the video. Sarah arrives guarded, but the lunch turns warm and humorous. She leaves smiling with plans for another date. Dara posts a final video to her subscribers and declares that those who did good found happiness and those who did wrong reaped what they sowed.
