Dark Ties

Tunde lies in bed with a woman when Nazah, his longtime friend and business partner, walks in and calls him Tea, declaring it the last straw. In Dark Ties, Fayokunmi, known on air as Kunkum, records a podcast with his girlfriend Amy while his mother Yetunde suffers a sudden health crisis at home. Her son Bayo finds her in distress, and she later dies, leaving Fayokunmi a sealed box and a letter revealing that his father is Olatunji Akinsanya, a prominent gaming CEO. At the studio Tunde cancels a lucrative Watergate partnership over villain depictions, prompting Nazah to resign after a heated argument about his unilateral decision. Fayokunmi reads the letter and tracks Olatunji to his home, but security turns him away. A woman who recognizes his podcast helps him confront the CEO in a parking lot and hand over the message. Tunde spirals after Nazah's departure and discovers his late father's diary filled with pleas for forgiveness. He confides in Fayokunmi that Yetunde sexually abused him as a child, forging a painful bond between the two men. Nazah works quietly behind the scenes and contacts Cynthia at Watergate to propose a redesign using shadowy gender-neutral villains, reigniting the deal. At a restaurant Tunde apologizes to Nazah, admitting his stubbornness cost them the company and their friendship, and she reveals she has salvaged the Watergate partnership. They share a vulnerable moment where he confesses his love and she reciprocates but insists he must heal from his trauma before they can build a future. Fayokunmi meets Olatunji properly and though the encounter is tense the CEO acknowledges him. Tunde visits his father's grave and whispers forgiveness, then sits with Fayokunmi in a therapy session where both begin to unburden decades of silence. The studio rebuilds with a committed skeleton crew and the Watergate deal moves forward. Fayokunmi, now hosting his podcast as Kumu-Kumu, welcomes Olatunji as a guest.
