Storyline
A schoolgirl's plea for a tablet earns only a scolding from her mother, whose market stall barely sustains the family. When a man in a red jersey announces a five-day demolition deadline, panic spreads through the traders, and the mother phones her son Somto—only for him to dismiss the threat as political theater. Already trapped in debt to the haughty Madam Cash, who forces her to strip off her ring and watch before begging for more time, she watches bulldozers level her livelihood. With nowhere to turn, she and her daughters wake before dawn to fry puff-puff, selling the snacks along the roadside for meager profits. Their relentless daily hustle—christened 'Daily 2k'—allows her to slowly repay Madam Cash and even save a deposit for a new shop, though it means enduring the woman's cruel humiliations, including forced singing. A landlord's rent demand tightens the noose, but the real blow lands when a smooth-talking agent vanishes with the entire sum. The shock collapses her health; she crumples to the ground, and her children, including young Amanda, take over the hawking while she remains bedridden. From her sickbed, she hears that Somto's WAEC results have come in with top marks, sparking a tearful family celebration that briefly pierces the hardship. News of their ordeal spreads through interviews and social media, eventually attracting a benefactor who provides a significant sum of money and a fully furnished shop rent-free for three years. The gesture wipes away the debt and the constant fear of Madam Cash, restoring a sense of security. The family records a thank-you video, their faces bright with relief and gratitude for the stranger who rescued them from the brink.
