Biography
EARLY LIFE
Yusuf Muhammad Awwal was born in the late 1990s in Nigeria. He is from Kogi State with mixed heritage — his father is from Kogi State while his mother is Yoruba from Oyo State. He was raised in a Muslim family and completed his secondary school and university education in Abuja. He developed a passion for acting, modelling, and storytelling early in life.
CAREER
Yusuf Muhammad Awwal began his acting career in 2020. His first movie appearance was in The Legend of Inikpi (2020), a film about the Igala tribe of Kogi State produced by Mercy Johnson. He gained significant attention with his role as River in Ruth Kadiri’s movie Bank And Bond (2026), which became his breakout role. He has also appeared in films like, Dumb Love (2026), Blood Line (2026), Under The Desk (2025). He is the founder of A Pengman’s Story, where he works as a filmmaker, writer, director, and content creator. He is known for being tall, dark, and handsome, and often takes on romantic and dramatic roles.
PERSONAL LIFE
Yusuf Muhammad Awwal is currently and not married. He has no children. He is in a private relationship with a girlfriend but keeps his personal life away from social media. He is a fitness enthusiast who maintains a muscular physique through regular gym workouts. He is based in Lagos, Nigeria, where he pursues his acting and filmmaking career. He is Muslim by religion.
