EARLY LIFE

Jeddy Odiboh grew up in the ancient city of Benin (Benin City). He attended Immaculate Conception College (ICC), where he excelled at tumbling, backflips, and physical performance. He became interested in martial arts after watching films featuring Jackie Chan, Bruce Lee, and others, initially teaching himself moves before receiving formal training. He went on to become a multiple-time national champion in Wushu Kung-fu, holding five black belts. He was a champion for nine consecutive years (2009–2018) and, in 2018, represented Abuja at the National Sports Festival, where he won the first-ever gold medal in Kung Fu for Abuja. He has also earned a bronze in gymnastics and reached the long list of the Maltina Dance Competition. He has spoken of drawing inspiration for realistic fight choreography from street experiences and the environment of his youth in Benin, as well as his time around the University of Benin (Uniben).

CAREER

Odiboh is widely regarded as one of the leading stunt coordinators and action directors in Nollywood and West Africa. He is the founder of the Tough Bone Stunt Team, a group of professional stunt performers specializing in high-risk work including fights, vehicle crashes, falls, fire, and wire work. He produced, wrote, and starred in the short film Shadow of Justice (which won Best Film at MTN SHORTZ in 2018). He used the project to demonstrate higher production standards for action and stunts in Nigerian cinema at a time when many producers were reluctant to invest in specialized stunt departments. His stunt coordination and performance credits include major Nollywood and international projects such as: Blood Sisters Gangs of Lagos (notable large-scale street fight choreography) Far From Home The Black Book Eleshin Oba The Setup 2 Mami Wata Blood Covenant Brotherhood (performed a high-profile backward fall from the Third Mainland Bridge into the lagoon) Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti (Amazon Prime; served as stunt double, including a balcony fall sequence for Joke Silva) Òlòtūré: The Journey (Netflix; coordinated and performed a major bus flip stunt with a 1982 Toyota Coaster) The Woman King (Hollywood production starring Viola Davis; worked as stunt trainer, including preparing Jimmy Odukoya) Fight Like a Girl (work in Congo and Rwanda with Ama Qamata) Tòkunbò, Suspicion, and others. He has also taken on acting roles, including Shadow (a car thief) in Daddy and a role in Mami Wata. He is frequently described as elevating the safety, realism, and ambition of action sequences in Nigerian film.

PERSONAL LIFE

Odiboh has described living a disciplined, athletic lifestyle focused on continuous training (running, workouts, martial arts, vehicle stunts, swimming, etc.) to prepare for the demands of his profession. He has also worked as a mural and graffiti artist (including commercial work for brands such as Budweiser).

Tough Bone emphasizes rigorous preparation, safety protocols, collaboration with directors and crews, and continuous skill development. He has spoken about the evolution of stunts in Nollywood from earlier, more hazardous methods to more professional, trained approaches. He continues to train, innovate, and advocate for greater recognition and proper budgeting for stunt work in African cinema. He is considered by many industry observers to be among the top stunt coordinators/action directors working in the region.
