Biography
EARLY LIFE
Simi Hassan, whose full name is Sinmileoluwa Oluseye Hassan (also known as Sinmi Hassan or Similoluwa Hassan), grew up as the last child in his family in Nigeria. His parents were protective and often restricted him from playing outside with neighborhood kids, leading him to spend much of his childhood indoors. This isolation shaped his shy personality, but it also fueled his love for storytelling through television, debates, church drama, and choreography. He did not initially see a direct path to acting from these experiences, but they planted seeds of creativity. On his third attempt at the JAMB exams, he chose to study Theatre Arts at the prestigious University of Ibadan, graduating in 2009. There, he was mentored by industry greats including Tunde Awosanmi, Toyin Oshinaike, Gabriel Afolayan, and Ropo Ewenla. His final year project focused on Toyin Oshinaike as an actor, deepening his admiration for the craft. This academic foundation gave him discipline and a deep understanding of performance, setting the stage for his professional journey.
