Biography
EARLY LIFE
Linda Ikeji was born on 19 September 1980 in Nkwerre, Imo State, into a Catholic family, where she was raised as the second child. She developed an interest in writing from the age of 10. She completed her secondary school education at age 17 and enrolled at the University of Lagos at 18 to study English language. To support herself and her family while in school, she took part-time jobs as a waitress, model, and writer. She graduated in 2004.
CAREER
Linda Ikeji began her career as a model before transitioning into writing and media. In 2006, she started blogging as a hobby, initially working from cybercafés when internet access was limited in Nigeria. She became more active in 2007 with the blog lindaikeji.blogspot.com, later moving to her own domain. Her blog gained massive popularity for entertainment news, gossip, and controversial publications, establishing her as one of Nigeria's highest-paid and most influential bloggers. She expanded into other ventures, including online radio and Linda Ikeji TV, launched a short-lived music platform (LindaIkeji Music) in 2016, and introduced a social networking site. She runs a non-profit entrepreneurship initiative called "I'd rather be self-made; No thanks," which supports young women aged 16–25 with business ideas. In 2023, she debuted as a film producer with the movie Dark October, which addressed the story of the Aluu Four lynching. She is recognized as a successful entrepreneur in Nigeria's digital media space.
PERSONAL LIFE
Linda Ikeji is a mother to a son. She met the child's father, Sholaye Jeremi, in December 2015. She has openly discussed on her blog that they are not suitable long-term partners and explained why the relationship did not work out as expected. She has faced public scrutiny regarding her pregnancy out of wedlock, given her earlier public stance promoting celibacy. She has a sister, Laura Ikeji
