Biography
EARLY LIFE
Kevin Toluwalogo Uchechukwu Solomon, professionally known as Kevin T. Solomon or KTS, was born on July 2, 1999, in Ikeja, Lagos State, Nigeria. He was raised in Lagos, where he spent much of his childhood and teenage years immersed in American teen sitcoms and television shows from Disney and Nickelodeon, including Big Time Rush, Game Shakers, Henry Danger, and Liv & Maddie. These early influences sparked his passion for storytelling and performance. His father is Gabriel Solomon, and his mother was Evelyn Okoduugba-Solomon, who passed away in March 2017—an event that deeply affected him and temporarily led him to question his pursuit of acting and filmmaking. He has a sister named Emmanuella Solomon and a brother named Eric Solomon. Solomon has described himself as someone with exceptionally ambitious dreams, often referring to himself as a “Werey With Big Dreams” (a self-deprecating Yoruba slang term implying bold, almost “crazy” ambition that others might dismiss). He completed his secondary education at Speedway Group of Schools, studying sciences from 2010 to 2015. Initially pursuing a technical path, he enrolled in Aircraft Building Engineering at the International College of Aeronautics but dropped out in 2016 to chase his creative aspirations in acting and filmmaking. He later attended The Polytechnic, Ibadan, where he studied Mass Communication from 2017 to 2019. During this time, in 2019, he conducted a free workshop on the basics of video editing at the institution, randomly selecting 10 participants from students and locals to teach foundational techniques—demonstrating his early commitment to sharing knowledge and building community in the creative space.
CAREER
Kevin T. Solomon is a multifaceted Nigerian actor, film director, producer, editor, content creator, and podcast host who began making films in 2016. He co-founded Reel Unit Productions in 2018 with Laughter Ephraim, an independent collective dedicated to producing short-form content and youth-oriented stories. He also serves as the Creative Lead for the indie film production group Wereys With Big Dreams. His early breakthrough projects include writing, directing, producing, and acting as Daniel in the 2019 short film Chase—a 5-minute project shot on an iPhone 5s with a modest budget of approximately NGN 50,000, exploring themes of instinct and unexpected trouble. In 2020, he co-directed (with Laughter Ephraim), produced, and starred as Tolu in Alpha Baby, another iPhone-shot short under Reel Unit Productions about unprocessed emotions straining relationships. That same year, he acted as Gozie in the web series Mr. & Mrs. A. His 2022 short Cloud Nine saw him acting as Efe while also directing and producing through Reel Unit Productions.
