Ikhlas Gafur Vora

Ikhlas Gafur Vora is a Tanzanian actress best known for her critically acclaimed breakout role in the 2021 historical drama film Tug of War (Vuta N'Kuvute). She played Yasmin, a young Indian-Zanzibari woman fleeing an arranged marriage who finds love and political awakening alongside a revolutionary freedom fighter during the final years of British colonial rule in Zanzibar [0.14]. Her powerful performance earned her significant international recognition, including a nomination for the prestigious Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role.
