EARLY LIFE

Collins Okoh grew up in Delta State, Nigeria. He developed an obsession with reading and writing stories from the age of nine, often writing short stories for his father, an English and Literature teacher. He studied Pharmacology at the university and completed his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Ilorin in 2015.

CAREER

Collins Okoh is recognized as one of the highest-grossing screenwriters in West Africa. He began his professional writing career in 2019 on the Africa Magic television series 'My Siblings & I' before joining the writing team of the hit sitcom 'Jenifa’s Diary'. In 2020, he co-wrote his first major cinema project, 'Omo Ghetto: The Saga', which became one of the highest-grossing Nigerian films of all time. Since then, he has written several commercially and critically successful projects, including 'Finding Me', 'A Tribe Called Judah', 'To Be a Friend', 'Behind the Scenes', 'Red Light Diaries', and the Prime Video hit series 'She Must Be Obeyed'. In 2024, Okoh received an AMVCA nomination for Best Movie Writer for his work on 'A Tribe Called Judah'. He has had three films simultaneously ranking among the top titles at the Nigerian box office, marking his third consecutive year achieving this milestone. He has spoken about facing challenges in the industry such as writer's block and being undervalued.
