Biography

EARLY LIFE

Angela Phillips was born and raised in Lagos State, Nigeria. She grew up in a vibrant environment and was inspired to act from a young age after watching the character “Efe” in the classic Nigerian soap opera Behind the Clouds. She speaks Yoruba fluently and has also demonstrated proficiency in Igbo dialects in her roles.

CAREER

Angela Phillips entered Nollywood in the mid-1990s. Her early breakthrough came with the comedy film Osofiason. She became a recognizable face through roles in popular movies such as, Clash of the Barons, Confidence, Orphans, Not by Height Reckless Babe, Showdown in France, Unseen Eye, Domino, Pure Love, Peacemaker Irapada, Imabong and Something Sweet. She took a break to focus on studies at LASU and other ventures but has continued working, with recent credits including Reflective Tears, Brothers Conflict, Deadly Decision, and Circle of Interest. She has also featured in Yoruba and Igbo-language productions.

PERSONAL LIFE

Angela Phillips is deeply religious and describes Rev. Dr. Sign Fireman as her spiritual father and mentor. She is a born-again Christian and serves as an Assistant Pastor. She combines acting with her confectionery business and has been open about her faith guiding her career and personal decisions. She remains unmarried and has stated she is waiting for the right God-fearing partner. She enjoys cooking, reading, and spending quiet time.
