Biography
EARLY LIFE
Amba Idongesit began her career in filmmaking as a writer after receiving screenwriting training from AFRIFF.
CAREER
She has written and created stories for several productions such as Africa Magic’s Elenini, top commercials for brands like Diageo, and podcasts. In 2018, she received a TV and Film production scholarship from the Multichoice Talent Factory, which allowed her to intern and work on most M-Nets films—including live and reality shows. Amba produced and directed a documentary for the Cross River State Government on Carnival Calabar that same year. She has since done other projects and applied her production skills in other areas such as production management. In 2021, Amba updated her filmmaking skills on directing; this was one of the best decisions as the directing course with EbonyLife Creative Academy made her excellent writing and directing skills even better. The directing course also granted her the opportunity to be a trainee with Africa’s best directors/writers: Kenneth Gyang and Biyi Bandele, on a Netflix Project produced by EbonyLife Studios.
