Biography
EARLY LIFE
Ali Nuhu Mohammed was born on March 15, 1974, in Maiduguri, Borno State, Nigeria. His father, Nuhu Poloma, was from Balanga in Gombe State, and his mother, Fatima Karderam Digema, was from Bama in Borno State. He grew up in Kano and attended Dawakin Tofa Science College. He earned a degree in Geography from the University of Jos in 1997.
CAREER
Nuhu made his acting debut in 1999 with the film Abin sirri ne. He is best known for his role in Sangaya, which became one of the highest-grossing Hausa films at the time. He also starred in sequel films like Azal, Jarumin Maza, and Sitanda. Ali Nuhu crossed over into mainstream Nollywood, appearing in English-language films. In 2009, he established his own production company, FKD Productions, and has since produced several successful films. In January 2024, Ali Nuhu was appointed by President Bola Tinubu as the Managing Director of the Nigerian Film Corporation.
PERSONAL LIFE
Ali Nuhu is married to Maimuna Garba Ja Abdulkadir since 2003, and they have two children, Fatima and Ahmad Nuhu. His daughter Fatima works as a model. Ali Nuhu practices Islam and maintains a relatively private lifestyle.
