Abdullateef Adetola Adedimeji

EARLY LIFE

Lateef Adedimeji was born on 1 February 1984 in Isolo, Lagos State, southwestern Nigeria. He is a native of Abeokuta in Ogun State. He attended Ire Akari Primary School in Isolo for his primary education and Ilamoye Grammar School in Okota, Lagos, for secondary school. From a young age he showed interest in performance; he began acting while still in secondary school, started with dancing, and enrolled in a dancing school. He also participated in an HIV/AIDS awareness campaign through a Non-Governmental Organisation, where he created educational video content on sexual health and human rights.

CAREER

He began his professional acting career in 2007. Before that, he had performed in various stage productions since the age of 15 and joined Orisun TV in 2007. His breakthrough came with the 2013 Yoruba film Kudi Klepto directed by Yewande Adekoya. He has since appeared in over 100 Nigerian films and is widely recognised for his ability to portray deeply emotional characters — earning him the nickname “Crying Machine.” In addition to acting, he works as a filmmaker, screenwriter, producer and director. His notable works includes, Ayinla (2021), Jagun Jagun (2023), Aníkúlápó: The Rise of Spectre (2024), House of Ga’a (2024), Lisabi: The Uprising (2024), and Lakatabu (2024). He has also collaborated with UNICEF on writing projects and served as brand ambassador for companies such as Airtel and Numatville Megacity. He remains active in both film and television as of 2026.

PERSONAL LIFE

Adedimeji married fellow actress Oyebade Adebimpe who is popularly known as Mo Bimpe on 18 December 2021. The couple maintains a joint verified Instagram presence through their official couple page and frequently shares family-oriented content.
